GAME 1 MVP: CHARLIE ARCHINAL

He has compiled an outstanding pitching career wearing the blue and gold of the Post 701. Sporting all time team records in wins (57), strikeouts (474), innings pitched (525) and era (2.11), Archinal continued his career of excellence throwing six innings without giving up an earned run in a 5-2 loss to Crystal Bar/AFI. Charlie walked only one and struck out four and earned Game 1 MVP honors.

GAME 2 MVP: DANNY AURICCHIO

Since he joined the Post four years ago, Danny Auricchio roamed the outfield with the best of them and when an opening came about at third base, he did not hesitate to adjust. And adjust, he did. In his first game at third in the 2008 season, Danny had two putouts and six assists, some of which were of the spectacular variety to help his teammates to a 7-5 comeback win over St. Michaels. And, just to show he is not only a defensive force, Danny pounded out a long triple to right, scored a run and knocked in one to earn the Game 2 honors of Post 701 MVP

GAME 3 MVP: DANNY AURICCHIO

He continues to amaze in every aspect of his game. Making the move from the outfield to 3rd base, he has given the Post a solid and reliable effort that has resulted in an improved inner defense. Offensively, he just gets better. After a 4 for 4 performance with 3 doubles and 5 rbis in the 17-2 romp over DePalma's, Danny Auricchio was named Game 3 MVP. A career .438 hitter with 58 ribbys in his short stay with the Post, Danny is hitting .833 for 2008 with a team leading 5 hits, 6 rbis, and 3 doubles.

Against the improved Z-Core club, Lorenzo Fiorillo did it all . . . single, triple, 3 runs scored, 2 rbis, and yes, a stolen base. For his excellence in Game 4, Lorenzo earned MVP honors.

GAME 5 MVP: CHARLIE ARCHINAL

He is off to a fast start for the 2008 season. He is pitching to a 1.33 era and a .232 batting average against, and is 6th on the team in average at .333 with 2 runs scored and 3 rbis. With 2 hits vs Shezkoff's, Danny Auricchio owns the team's longest hitting streak of the year (5) while hitting in every game that he has played. In addition, Dan has been spectacular at third since making the move from leftfield, and for his solid hitting and fielding, Danny was named Game 6 MVP.

GAME 7 MVP: MATT BECK

Whether it is first base or behind the plate, you know you will 100% from young veteran Matt Beck. GAME 8 MVP: BRENDAN CUDMORE

The Post ended a 3 game losing streak vs Schott's thanks in large part to rookie Brendan Cudmore. Batting in the 5th spot in the order, Brendan knocked an rbi single in the first and then banged out his 2nd homer of the year, a long 3 run blast in the third in a 9-3 Post victory. With his two runs scored and four rbis, Brendan was named Game 8 MVP.

GAME 9 MVP: NYLE NELSON

After being away from the Post for 5 years, Nyle Nelson rejoined the club this year and is enjoying quite possibly his finest season in a Post uniform. Against LaCucina, Nyle pitched 5 innings of one hit ball for his 4th win of the year and was named Game 9 MVP.

GAME 10 MVP: DANNY AURICCHIO

GAME 13 MVP: CHARLIE ARCHINAL

Charlie Archinal did it with his arm and bat in a come from behind win over Guns 'N Hoses. Charlie pitched 5+ innings of shutout ball, while striking out seven. He also went 2 for 3 with the bat, including the game winning 2 run double in the sixth innings. For his overall performance, Charlie was named Game 13 MVP.

GAME 14 MVP: VINNY FIORILLO

He has the thankless job of making out the lineup, bringing the equipment and conducting the Kangaroo Court. However, whatever Vinny Fiorillo does, he approaches with class and respect. So, it is a no brainer for Diamond Notes to choose the popular Post Skipper as Game 14 MVP for his big 2 run triple in the 7 run second inning explosion in the 10-5 win over Emerald Cinema. Vinny crushed a Pat Jurczak fast ball knocking in two, and scored when youngest son Lorenzo followed Dad's triple with a 2 run homer.
